Scott has represented Zone 1 as a director on the Portland Public Schools Board of Education since 2019.
Last November, Portland Public Schools experienced a historic teacher strike. Our kids lost 11 days of desperately needed instruction time, our families and PPS employees lost a week of holiday break, and teachers and families lost much-needed trust in their public school system.
The final contract provides our educators with a well-deserved 13.8% wage increase over three years, along with increases in elementary and middle school instructional time and more teacher planning time.
