The Oregon Nurses Association held a candlelight vigil in honor of Alex Pretti. The vigil was held at Veterans’ Park in Medford.
ONA leadership says they wanted to honor Pretti, a fellow nurse, and stand up for what they believe is right. They stand firmly on their stance that the death of Alex Pretti was unjustified and wrong.
Pretti was a nurse at the Veterans Affairs hospital in Minneapolis. He was shot and killed by federal agents earlier this month.
ONA says they needed to host the vigil to show solidarity with nurses across the country and express how they felt about the issue. Over 100 showed up on Saturday evening.
