The City Manager has authorized the extension of the emergency severe weather shelter through the morning of Monday, December 5, 2022.
The shelter will be located at the Presbyterian Church at 1615 Clark Ave. The shelter will open each night at 5 p.m. at the Presbyterian church on Wednesday Nov. 30, Thursday Dec. 1 and Friday Dec. 2. The shelter will close each morning at 7 a.m.
The shelter will move to the Gresham room of the Ashland Public Library on Saturday and Sunday nights, Dec. 3 and 4. The Ashland Public Library is located at 410 Siskiyou Blvd. The shelter will open each night at 5 p.m. and close at 9 a.m.
Doors will open at both locations each night at 5 p.m. The doors will close for the night at 9 p.m. with lights out at 10 p.m. These are no-frills shelters, which means that individuals should plan on providing their own bedding. Well-behaved pets will be welcomed at the Presbyterian church shelter, however, only service animals are allowed inside at the Public Library. Cats are not recognized as service animals under the Americans with Disabilities Act.
